Standard for Tempered Glass
At Baros Glass, we place a high priority on the safety and quality of our balustrade glass. Our railing glasses are manufactured in strict accordance with the EN 12150-2:2007 standard, which sets the benchmark for toughened safety glass (or so-called *thermally toughened sodium calcium silicate safety glass). This European standard ensures that our railing glass meets strict safety and quality criteria. Our commitment to following these guidelines ensures the structural integrity and durability of our products, making them a reliable choice for both residential and commercial environments.
*Thermally toughened soda lime silicate safety glass is a type of glass that’s been specially treated to make it stronger and safer than ordinary glass. Firstly the glass is heated to a high temperature and then rapidly cooled. This process, known as thermal toughening, changes the glass structure so that if it ever breaks, it crumbles into small, blunt pieces instead of sharp shards. This makes it a much safer choice to use in places like glass railings, where glass strength and safety are paramount. The use of soda lime silicate in the glass adds to its durability and clarity.
Standard for Laminated Glass
The EN ISO 12543-1:2022 standard, specifically targeting laminated glass and laminated safety glass in building applications such as glass railings, is a critical benchmark for ensuring safety and quality.
