What is laminated glass? Laminated glass(also referred to as triplex) is a type of safety glass that stays whole even after being shattered. When breaking occurs it stays whole thanks to the middle layer of Polyvinyl butyral (PVB). The laminated glass design is such that the middle layer holds the glass panels together and its strength does not allow the glass to shatter into big sharp pieces. There is a distinctive web-like model of breaking when the impact is not enough to fully go through
